Susan G Komen Race For the Cure

16 May

It’s Thursday! I am happy to say that my painting project is complete, besides a few small touch ups it is done. I love my doors.

Something else fun is I am the featured blogger today onSITS Girls. I am very excited!!

Lastly, I am running in the Race for the Cure this weekend so I wanted to repost my Susan G Komen Breast Cancer post.

Today I wanted to talk a little bit about my next run, I don’t want to call it race because this event is not about the running. To be honest this is my most important run of the year. It is not a long distance and I have no personal running goals for myself. My only goal is to be a part of this amazing cause and raise money to support them.

I am running the Susan G. Komen 5K Race for the Cure.

About Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is a type of cancer where cells in the breast tissue divide and grow without normal control. It is a widespread and random disease, striking women and men of all ages and races. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide, with about 1.6 million new cases in 2010. The exact cause of the disease is unknown, and at this time, there is no cure. But there is hope. Thanks to heightened awareness, early detection through screening, improved treatment methods and increased access to breast health services, people have a greater chance of survival than ever before.

This cause hits close to home because it has affected people in my life. My grandmother, multiple aunts, friends and now a former high school classmate was just diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer at 35 . She is fighting right now and as she says she is going all twelve rounds to beat breast cancer.

If you would like to donate to the cause here is my donation page

MomRunsHalf Donation Page

If you aren’t able to donate that is ok but either way please just pray for those currently fighting, who have lost their fight, who have won their fight and who have yet to fight and their families. Pray for a cure.
